Facebook invests $25m in India based Meesho

Facebook buys $25m stake in 4 years old Indian based company Meesho.

Meesho, a Bengaluru-based social commerce platform that helps resellers and emerging brands build businesses using social media, has bagged funding of $25 m from social network giant Facebook.
This is Facebook’s first investment in an India-based startup.

Meesho is an Indian-origin social commerce platform founded by IIT Delhi graduates Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Barnwal in December 2015.

Meesho was earlier also trying to gather funds. Starting from July 2016, they gathered around $120,000 from Y Combinator, a Mountain View,California based company raising the bar it till date.
